The Kick-off Meeting of the project RECON “RE-valuation of Cultural-Heritage, Knowledge and Opportunity Network”, funded under the Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro Programme, was held on 22 November 2021 in Podgorica. Due to the pandemic situation from Covid-19, the Meeting took place in hybrid mode allowing project partners to participate both in presence and online. A press conference was organized at the end of the meeting.
The Montenegrin Cinematheque, in Montenegro, is the lead partner of RECON, which involves, as project partners, the Albanian national film archive (Albania), the Apulia Film Commission Foundation (Puglia region) and the Municipality of Termoli (Molise region).
RECON is funded under Priority Axis 2, Specific Objective 2.2 “Increase the cooperation of the key actors of the area for the delivery of innovative cultural and creative products” and its overall objective is the modernization of archival activities and the mapping of cultural heritage materials to invest in creative industries as a key of producing a long-term strategic and innovative approach to access to archival elements.
Specifically, the project foresees the realization of a Feasibility Study of introduction of "Cinematheque" in Apulia region, with cataloguing, storage and study of the regional cinema heritage purposes, the updating of hardware and software for cataloging film materials, created by Montenegrin Cinematheque and the creation of a joint cross-border platform for production of short-medium length documentary videos, video installations and database of digitalized films' posters, in order to make cultural exchange of artists from Albania, Montenegro and Italy.
The territorial cooperation between the partners will allow to stimulate the synergy between the cultural heritage institutions and its cross-border enhancement through the creative production of new art.
